Security
If the equipment is deployed within a hospital on hospital managed IT infrastructure there are no security issues beyond those of other hospital systems.
When CRAB is deployed across the internet, all transfers are encrypted (SSL 128Bit) and the patient identifiable data is encrypted in the CRAB database. All access is authenticated and audited. CRAB Informatics is experienced in the deployment of highly secure web based applications. All systems are CfH compliant as a minimum standards and CRAB IT support is N3 certified.
In production, the web servers at each location would be dedicated to an individual organisation’s own CRAB database and would have all ports closed to the internet except port 443 (SSL).
