Operational support
Clinical Intelligence is not designed to be confined to clinical care. It provides the ability to take strategic decisions about, for example, Critical Care bed management and discharge planning. Multiple additional functions can also be introduced to improve management and reporting efficiency. C-CI Ltd. can respond to most requests, but key examples are:
Automated Discharge Summary
Implementation of CRAB and COMPASS can also support provider organisations to meet new targets for generating discharge summaries for GPs. The data harvested for CRAB reporting can be configured to incorporate the data needed for automated discharge summaries with a maximum 48hour turnaround.
WHO Safer Surgery Checklist audit
The credentials of the Safer Surgery Checklist are well recognised. The Checklist saves lives and improves the safety of surgical care around the world by ensuring adherence to proven standards of care in all countries where it is applied.
COMPASS now enables a combined user interface for clinical staff to complete the Safer Surgery Checklist, producing both an electronic audit trail for the Checklist itself, as well as a direct link to post-operative outcomes through CRAB. Find out more about how C-CI is supporting a new national research programme about the Checklist with Imperial College London.
The WHO estimates that globally 7 million patients suffer complications following surgery, half of which are likely to be preventable. Published results from the use of the checklist reduced the rate of deaths and complications by more than one third across all 8 pilot hospitals. Research
CRAB and COMPASS are designed to fit within standard Microsoft programming process – and can act as a platform for capturing a variety of supplementary and specialty-specific data for clinical research projects or any size. C-CI Ltd. is already working in collaboration with Imperial College London on a significant national research programme, but also in discussion with individual practitioners about how Clinical Intelligence can provide the database for their own professional development research. Management Information & Central reporting
Clinical Intelligence is a suite of tools focusing on creating a detailed picture of clinical quality across an organisation. However, the highly bespoke nature of implementation means that C-CI Ltd. has developed the expertise to add multiple additional functions to respond to the needs of individual organisations locally. This can include harvesting a variety of management information alongside clinical data, and producing key performance reports whether for internal purposes or central returns. C-CI Ltd. can create a single reporting engine for all these functions, or feed into existing organisational reporting structures.
