Choosing the right solution
Overview
IT in Healthcare is an understandably contentious subject. Clinicians, certainly, can be cynical or mistrustful of IT projects which cut across their practice. Implementation, with demonstrable benefits and cultural engagement is essential. Clinical Intelligence is expressly not one-size fits all. It is predicated on local engagement and a flexible, bespoke, approach to implementation.
C-CI’s solutions are completely tailored to local circumstances. Products range from practice audit and revalidation support for individual consultants, to fully integrated and interfaced IT systems across whole organisations.
Data may be entered manually by clinicians or audit staff with minimal workload consequences, or may be captured automatically from existing clinical systems on-site. Automatic data capture enables CRAB to be installed, and quality reports generated, with minimal change to established workflows. By contrast, manual data capture by clinical teams can help to grow clinical engagement within organisations, with greater clinical ownership of coding and the quality management agenda.
Between these options, any number of permutations may exist to reflect local culture and/or the reliability of specific systems (for example, patient demographics and blood test data may be stripped automatically and in real time from a PAS and a pathology system and pre-loaded into a CRAB database which is then supplemented by other manually entered variables).
