Overview
CRAB was originally developed as an audit and assessment tool for surgery. Designed by and for clinicians using data they trust, CRAB has the support of the clinical professions, giving it a significant lead on market competitors which rely on inaccurate and out of date administrative data and only produce statistical management information.
CRAB references a constantly growing dataset of more than 700,000 patients drawn from over 45 countries, making it a peerless benchmarking application. 70% of these data are UK-based, also ensuring benchmarking of NHS practice is relevant and accurate.
The CRAB products are highly flexible and scalable. They have been developed to best practice guidelines for healthcare IT and can be readily interfaced to a diverse range of existing systems in hospital and medical environments. The products are supported through implementation partnerships with L2S2, an agile and highly advanced software team who are also responsible for product development, and About Health, a scalable specialist change management consultancy.
The CRAB technology creates a gateway for delivering a range of value-added benefits to improve quality, safety and cost-effectiveness in organisational process and knowledge management.
The CRAB surgical product family now includes:
- In patient surgery
- Acute Medicine
- Scheduled reporting services
- Support for appraisal and revalidation
- Support for World-Class Commissioning
- Aggregate quality monitoring and targeted reviews for Strategic Health Authorities
CRAB is expanding all the time. New modules are planned and in development for:
- Day case surgery
- Stroke care,
- Paediatrics
- Diabetes
- Ambulance Services,
- Primary Care practice,
- Long term condition management (with the facility to pre-emptively assess for co-morbidity),
- Mental Health,
- Patient Experience
All our research and development is carried out in close liaison with local healthcare organisations and clinical teams to ensure future product ranges are designed precisely to match target client needs. Contact us for fuller details.
CRAB can be readily localised to overseas markets due its basis on tested mathematical principles, international clinical best practice and its compatibility with international clinical coding systems. C-CI Ltd. is already working with colleagues in Ireland, Scandinavia, the Far East and the US, ultimately enabling highly detailed domestic and global comparisons.
